Imaging Dedicated Lead | 2011-2014
At Wizards of the Coast, I served as Imaging Dedicated Lead, overseeing a team
of 3–4 designers responsible for high-volume, quality-critical production
of Magic: The Gathering trading cards.
To ensure consistency and high-quality output across multiple designers, I developed and implemented a streamlined workflow using Photoshop actions and InDesign scripts.
These systems improved efficiency, reduced errors, and ensured consistent visual communication across large production volumes.

Color Correction of Images
Some assets were provided as original canvas files, while others arrived in RGB format.
All images were manually color corrected and processed to closely match the original artwork, ensuring maximum visual fidelity and consistency across formats.

Art-In-Frame
Images were placed onto the appropriate color frames based on card type
and set requirements.
In some cases, artwork was reused across multiple card frames, requiring adjustments
for consistency. Others were pickup assets that needed updated frame treatments
to align with current design standards.

White Underprint Files
Magic: The Gathering is renowned for its exquisite foil artwork. To achieve the desired visual impact, each foil card required a custom white underprint file tailored to the specific artwork. Our team worked diligently to leverage the reflective properties of the foil to enhance storytelling and visual depth, guided by the principle: “White reveals, black conceals.”
